The studio is busy these days with lots of babies and families.. must be something in the water :) You may remember Koby & Scott from their Colorado mountain wedding a few years ago at the Aspen Glen Club near Glenwood Springs. So naturally when I learned the news about the sweet new addition to their family I was thrilled. It’s always such an honor to get to be invited into people’s lives, to document as families are formed and morph and grow. From engagement to wedding to the beginning of a new family. Full circle. I love that.

Baby Anna is such a sweetheart, and at 8 months old she is a bundle of pure joy and delight, with bright beautiful eyes and an infectious smile that melts your heart. Warmest congrats to the proud parents!

So excited to share a few more from baby Lila’s recent portrait session! You may remember Lila and her parents from Lila’s newborn session a few months back. (JP is a dear friend from days gone by, who I met while working in Switzerland, and Erika runs the most amazing bakery in the Highlands, called Living the Sweet Life – if you haven’t yet had the pleasure, go. Baby Lila ~ 6 months

So excited to share a quick peek from baby Lila’s portrait session – isn’t she just a doll? I just adore her sweetness. And how she lights up the world with her smile. It’s amazing how quickly time passes – this 6 month baby session so different from a few months back when I photographed her as a newborn.. And I can’t wait to share more :) Soon, I promise!

Colorado Family Portraits

Last week I posted a sneak peek of this Colorado portrait session, but wanted to follow up with the full blog post of this adorable family. Working with these lovlies is so much FUN! And it’s always amazing to be able to scroll through the archives to see how these kiddos have morphed over the years (we did a session a few years back – check out their cutest little faces here (scroll down to the third image :) colorado children’s portraits ) – What a joy to see how they’ve grown into this most recent stage of their lives. Thank you, sweet friends, for a most fabulous afternoon!

Texture and Light

I’m the first to admit that I don’t shoot nature. Or landscapes. Or abstract landscapes in.. um.. nature. What I tend to be drawn to most are personalities and connections and emotions, so naturally I gravitate towards photographing people. But I also understand the value of personal projects and branching out of one’s comfort zone. So last week during spring break, as we meandered our way through the slot canyons exploring the southwest, I photographed something that didn’t contain people, which is pretty rare for me. And surprisingly, I loved it! :) I was completely inspired by the colors and texture and sense of movement, the dancing interplay between shadow and light. So today’s post is a first for me – a small glimpse into a world outside of portraits and weddings – enjoy :)

St Baldricks 2012

Those of you who have followed this blog through the years will recognize this sweet family. And therefore you may be familiar with Tuesday and her battle with neuroblastoma.. (for a little backstory or to view a few of my previous posts through the years, click HERE. HERE. and HERE. and HERE.)

Last Friday marked the third year that Team Tuesday has participated in Denver’s St Baldrick’s event at Fado’s. Team Tuesday consists of an incredible group of kids and teens and men and women – and I am in so completely in awe of each and every one of them. Proud. And inspired. Each year I am reminded of the LOVE in this world, and I am filled with hope for our future.. and for our kids. Team Tuesday has managed to raise $24,948. (and counting!) towards the fight against pediatric cancer. So. AMAZING.

Boulder Engagement Session ~ Kim & Scott

Kim & Scott are engaged! Scott first met Kim when they were both students at CU Boulder, so after grabbing a few shots at in the foothills by Chautauqua, we headed over to the CU Boulder campus and braved the wind and chilly February temperatures for an amazing session. I love how these two so clearly adore each other and can’t wait for their wedding later this year. A few of my favorites..

Cielo at Castle Pines Wedding ~ Heather & Matt

Heather & Matt exude joy – an infectious joy that touches the people that surround them. Their wedding day was a perfect reflection of just that: it was joyful. and playful. and FUN. So. Much. Fun. And of course it was heartfelt and emotional too – not a dry eye in the house during the personal toasts by the bride and groom. The entire event was flawlessly coordinated by Pam from Sapphire Celebrations, who worked her magic down to every last exquisite detail. A dramatic display of light and sound masterfully arranged by Brian and the team at Pure Energy Events highlighted the beauty of the venue Cielo at Castle Pines (and even included an NHL-style grand entrance announced by Alan Roche (of the Colorado Avs) So fun! It was such an honor to be a part of such an incredible day with such incredible people. A few highlights..
