Congrats Class of 2012! It’s that time of year for senior portraits – and I love it! I recently had the pleasure of photographing Nevada’s senior portrait session. Nevada is an absolute joy to work with – she is super smart (she lettered in academics), confident, and such a natural in front of the camera. So fun and vibrant, and I just love her sense of style. With fall right around the corner and yearbook deadlines looming, it’s high school senior portrait season – and I’m loving every minute of it! I really enjoy photographing high school seniors, capturing this important slice of life and letting individual personalities shine.

Becca’s session was one of those sessions where we could have shot all night. She wanted unique locations, and she really really wanted to shoot in a junkyard. Of course I happily accommodated :) We had such a blast and I’ve been dying to share the results – have a look.. Congrats Becca, and best wishes for your success and a fabulous senior year!

Congratulations Class of 2010! Just wanted to share a few images from one of my favorite high school senior portrait sessions from earlier this year. I love working with high school seniors – they’re so much fun to shoot and I love to custom-tailor their photo session to really reflect their personality. So when Natalie contacted me and mentioned her horse, Hershey, I was so excited! I love that perfect end-of-day light filtering through the grasses.. and she’s such a natural model in front of the camera, vibrant and adorable.. (so is Hershey :)

Amazing high school senior portrait session yesterday!! Look how incredibly stunning she is, so much fun to work with and such a natural in front of the lens. Plus we had the most perfect Colorado backdrop – check out the thicket of wild sweet pea flowers in the shots below. Special thanks to Henry for being my stalwart assistant, and to all of you for braving the wild (bees, mosquitos, cacti, oh my!) in search for the perfect shot. As promised a few of my faves..

Last weekend I attended an all-day shooting workshop in downtown Denver with the PPC (Professional Photographers of Colorado). The focus was high school senior portrait photography, and it was a blast – grungy urban locations with great textures, wonderful senior high school models, and an amazing group of talented photographers. Sunday at Red Rocks

Yesterday I took advantage of our 60+ degree weather (!) and had the opportunity to join a a bunch of other photographers shooting up at Red Rocks (there were at least 40 of us!) It was all part of the inauguration of the Innovative Imagemakers’ Camera Road Trip – and what a perfect way to spend a glorious Colorado day!

As you can see, we had some wonderful high school models who were pretty much game for anything! Here are a few..
